UK AND IRELAND INSTALLERS TO BENEFIT FROM EXPANSION OF RISCO TECHNICAL TRAINING PROGRAMME
RISCO’s installer support service has been expanded with the growth of its technical training programme, as it strives to provide security installers with the opportunity to boost their expertise and learn how to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of their commercial and residential projects. The company has increased both the size of its team and the accessibility of its training.
The expanded technical and training department provides installers – including professional and accredited firms delivering multi-site Grade 3 commercial projects – with free, bespoke, face-to-face technical training at their own premises, at the company’s UK headquarters in Greater Manchester, and now also at branches of ADI Global Distribution, with who RISCO signed a national distribution agreement earlier this year.
As part of the development, David Berry joins the manufacturer and distributor of cloud-based security solutions as technical support and training engineer, bringing with him over 10 years’ experience of the security sector. Arriving at RISCO from Walker Fire (UK) where he provided technical support, David has also held roles at Keyways Security Systems and Southern and Northern Monitoring Services.
He works alongside a second technical support and training engineer, Des O’Meara, who was recently promoted to the new position following five years as technical support helpdesk engineer, and has a wealth of engineering knowledge, gained at ADT and SPIE.
Alongside sales engineer Glyn Riley, Des and David take responsibility for delivering RISCO’s ambitious training programme. Additional expertise is provided by the wider technical team: UK and Ireland technical and training manager Mark Earp and product support specialist Chris Denton have both worked for the company for over 15 years.
The group is aided by the company’s apprentice technical support technicians, Mehedi Hussain and Ricardo Butler, who were appointed last summer to provide first-line, UK-based installer assistance.
The team works closely with RISCO’s commercial department, which last year saw the addition of four new regional sales managers. The managers work directly with installers, gaining insight into their pain-points and evolving requirements, ensuring that they are catered for with bespoke solutions drawing on RISCO’s product and service portfolio. RISCO’s wider installer support package also includes training webinars and videos.
RISCO’s UK and Ireland managing director, Mark Taylor, said: “RISCO is committed to meeting exactly the needs of UK and Ireland installers. The expansion of our technical and training team and access to ADI’s branch network will make it easier than ever before for them to access our training, become experts in our award-winning products*, and learn how to deliver projects more efficiently and cost-effectively. We look forward to welcoming significant numbers of UK and Ireland installers to our training events in 2023.”
RISCO supplies a range of innovative, high quality wired, wireless and hybrid solutions, including the LightSYS+ scalable hybrid intruder alarm system for commercial and high-end residential projects. A concise product portfolio facilitates security of supply and next-day delivery of orders placed online or by phone.
A technological pioneer, the company was established in 1978 and was the first to introduce cloud-based security systems to the UK and Ireland markets; its iRISCO app was the first available globally.
RISCO’s technical and training team will be on hand to meet installers on stand 4/E100 at The Security Event. For further details about the company, please visit https://www.riscogroup.com/uk.
