Elexon Charge Codes for the Eco-Friendly X2 Combat

RedVision CCTV Stand: 5/H15

The X2 Combat PTZ Camera

The X2 COMBAT rugged ball PTZ camera, designed and manufactured by Redvision CCTV, is a high-quality surveillance camera designed to provide stunning recorded images in tough, outdoor applications. Its die-cast aluminium body is marine-grade as standard, alongside the long-life tooled silicon wiper. The rugged exterior is matched by its extensive range of features, boasting a super low-light CMOS sensor, dual infra-red (IR) and white light options, H265 encoding and a 30x optical zoom. All supplied with solid, UK based technical support.

Energy efficiency and reduced “total-cost-of-ownership” have been central to the green-energy design approach used in Redvision cameras. The IR and white light, night-time CCTV cameras use super-efficient LED technology, delivering both extensive night-time illumination capability and low operating costs.

What are Elexon Charge Codes?

Elexon is the organisation who manage the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC), which defines the rules and governance for the balancing processes of electricity in Great Britain. A Charge code is a product specific number assigned to devices that unmetered supply (UMS) customers wish to add to their inventories and are used to calculate the volume of electricity consumed for said product. Public sector bodies within Great Britain are therefore billed for their UMS depending on the Elexon Charge Code for each of the electronic products used on their system.

What is the advantage of having an Elexon Charge Code?

The energy efficient X2 Combat has its own Elexon charge codes, which are specific for both PoE and 24VDC models; and non-IR, IR-LED and IR and white light LED models. When compared to the standard code given for CCTV cameras, and to other PTZ cameras in the market, the X2 Combat can save up to 47% on energy expenditure. This provides a huge potential cost saving for the public sector, utilising a UK manufactured camera that has been designed for public space surveillance.
