X3 STORM Shock Test
X3 STORM was dropped from specific heights (1m, 1.5m, 2m), whilst mounted horizontally to a securing plate (worst-case scenario), then brought to a sudden, abrupt halt. The camera passed TÜV’s stringent testing, even when subjected to stresses of 327G. With regards to X3 STORM, the tests are carried out to ensure that the camera can withstand great impacts and remain intact throughout the event. In context of surveillance applications, this simulates for example – a vehicle losing control and colliding with a camera pole in public space. It would be important in this case that a surveillance camera remains intact and does not represent a falling-object threat to members of the public.
