Standalone Access Control
Standalone systems do not have a centralised control centre, as online systems do, but are instead programmed at the door using the reader’s internal functions. Standalone systems may utilise a keypad code or an access card or tag to control entry into a building or area. Due to the lack of a centralised management system in standalone access control, these solutions are recommended mainly for small commercial premises and storage units.
CDVI’s standalone solutions include keypads with built-in card readers, as well as the popular STAR1M MIFARE® reader. This 2-in-1 reader can be customised for either online or standalone modes, and comes with a shadow card function for reducing the drawbacks of card management in standalone systems.
